The Texas World Music Festival will be taking Dallas-Fort Worth music lovers by storm at the State Fair over a three day week-end in July. KZEW-98FM has been selected by Pace Concerts as the only official Dallas radio station with all the inside scoop on the event. Among the world-famous rock and roll talent appearing at the festival will be Ted Nugent, Heart, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Bob Welch, Aerosmith, Willie Nelson, Kris & Rita, Charlie Daniels, & Mahogany Rush. Quite an impressive lineup to hit the Lone Star State all at once and all in the Cotton Bowl. Also, while the festival is going on, there will be a rock and roll supermarket just outside the fairgrounds with stereo shops, record stores, novelties, a flea market, arts and crafts fair, world's largest movie theatre, food everywhere for the tasting, a livestock exhibit,a skateboard exhibit, a battle of the bands, a knocked-out fireworks show, and finally, a Lazer show. Sound like fun? Then just keep listening to the Zoo.
The ZOO sounds great these days...maybe because of our brand new studio!! According to Dave Kendrick, Chief Engineer, ZOO DJ's are now playing with some of the finest equipment in the country. "Our new console is a Ward-Beck, the latest on the market" beamed Kendrick. "It has twelve mixers and compressors and limiters. Our turntables are the finest money can buy. And the new board has one of the most beautiful custom-built consoles I've evr seen". When asked his overall opinion of the facility, Kendrick replied, " The other engineers and myself feel like Maytag men."
